rachel carns
born today august 13th
free-thinking soul searcher, visionary, feminist, illustrator, painter, designer, art-rocker-musician-pianist-drummer-vocalist, composer, summer farmer, curious raw foodist, health aficionado, cancer survivor, cat owner, long-time contributor to the olympia, washington art & music community, lightning magnet.
best known for her drumming/singing/writing/organ playing & various collaborations in bands such as kicking giant, the need and twin and also for her work & visual stories in the field of (graphic) design - working under the name system lux - in her basement studio making artwork (day job) for musicians, artists and other freaks, which involves her venturing into dialogues of utopian worlds & atlantis fabrications of shapes & painted pixels on her usually- almost-breaking- down-out-dated macintosh computer.
in the summer months, rachel can be seen under our brilliant dome of sunshine walking the streets of olympia, washington occasionally sporting jet-black sharpie eye brows & a leather fanny pack.

since i was a high school freak and slinking past the State Theatre to spy on Rachel taking tickets in sharpie eyebrows, she has defined punk rock for me. A living Legend.
